Pursuant to the earthquake which ravaged the Country of Haiti on January 12th, 2010, Secretary of Department of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, announced on Friday, January 15th, 2010 that the Obama Administration granted TPS (Temporary Protective Status) to all Haitian nationals residing in the United States on or before January 12th, 2010. Note: TPS Applicants must make careful considerations when applying for TPS. It is important to file properly and by the mandated deadline. If not done in accordance with the U.S. Government guidelines, you may lose your chance to benefit from TPS. It is important to retain the services of an attorney experienced in immigration law in order to ensure that filing is done properly and on a timely basis.
